A fantastic opportunity for a Commercial Gas Engineer to join a nationwide market leader in Facilities and Commercial Building Maintenance.

Covering the North East of England – including areas from Northumberland down to Teesside

Salary: Competitive + Company Van (option for private usage) + mobile phone + tablet + private healthcare, life insurance, critical illness cover, pension and 25 days holiday, plus 8 bank holidays

Overtime available

Hours: 40 hours a week – Monday to Friday

On call: 1 week in every 4

Coleman James Specialist Recruitment are advertising this Commercial Gas Engineer role on behalf of our client – a nationwide market leader in Facilities and Commercial Building Maintenance. As a company they deliver trusted M&E Hard and Building Maintenance Services to clients across the whole of the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carrying out PPM and reactive HVAC maintenance across a number of sites • Inspecting and maintaining gas appliances, central heating plant and plant room equipment • Installing and carrying out site works associated with the installation of gas appliances, central heating plant and plant room equipment • Ability to maintain / repair a range of mechanical equipment, e.g. fans, pumps and compressors to recognized standards • You will be the first line in all maintenance throughout your allocated sites • Ensuring that all technical and compliance paperwork is completed and up to date • Identify non-repairable faults in plant and machinery and promptly advise the management

Candidate Profile

  • You must be a Qualified Commercial Gas / Heating Engineer who has experience across multi-sites on the service and maintenance of heating systems
  • You must hold ACS Qualifications such as – COCN, CIGA, CORT, ICPN, CDGA, TPCP1, TPCP1A
  • Ideally you will hold City & Guilds 17th or 18th wiring regulations although this is not essential
  • You must have experience of multi-site environment and be able to deal directly with customers and the on-site team there
  • Positive in your approach, you will be able to work in a dynamic business environment, but above all be committed to the delivery of outstanding customer service
  • You will have the ability to work at heights, work in confined spaces
  • You will have a hands-on, can-do and flexible approach to your work
  • You will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • You will have a strong attention to detail
  • You will be prepared to work as part of an on call rota (1 week in 4)
  • You will hold a full Driving Licence and a high degree of mobility to travel throughout the area
