My client has an opportunity for a Managing Surveyor to join their Commercial division based in Leeds to strengthen their team in preparation for additional workload planned in 2023. The role will be responsible for the daily commercial management of the project supply chain in order to achieve business objectives on one or more projects including larger, more complex projects.  

Responsibilities: 

• Produce commercial reports both internally and external to the Business 

• Develop project team performance, encouraging and ensuring that main contractual obligations and/or strategies are executed and regularly reviewed 

• Ensure the timely receipt of quotations for materials, equipment and sub-contract works and subsequently undertake commercial assessment of quotes received 

• Ensure the timely placement of orders on commercially advantageous terms to facilitate project delivery and ensure business objectives are met. 

• Responsible for ensuring the recovery of the costs/ value and time associated with change from clients to allow agreement of final accounts. 

They are looking for a qualified Surveyor with an understanding of the different procurement methods used in construction and the risks associated with each. In addition, you will have a solid level of technical appreciation/ competence in M&E with the ability to apply this to the management of valuation techniques.
