Job Summary
Our Clients are recruiting for the role of Civil Structural Design Engineer, to support their growing multi-disciplinary rail business.
You will design packages which comply with good design practice, relevant technical, professional and group standards.
Job Requirements
Your responsibilities will include;
- Provide design deliverables that satisfy safety and quality requirements
- Produce design calculations and drawings.
- Direct and develop CAD technicians and more junior designers and graduates.
- Prepare design investigations, reports and specifications.
- Design in compliance with relevant technical, professional and group standards.
- Ensure project change for design package is recorded.
- Undertake work using formal processes and procedures.
- Assist with estimating hours required for design packages
- Attend IDC meetings and design presentations and present simple designs
Candidate Profile
The successful candidates should come from either a construction or engineering background, ideally with experience of the UK rail industry.
- HND/Significant industry experience
- 5+ years relevant design experience in structural/civil engineering.
- A good understanding of Group standards, procedures and HSE Legislation.
- Good understanding of office applications and CAD and CAD standards.
