Job Description
A North East based main contractor, who specialise in new build commercial, retail, industrial, education and refurbishment projects across the UK are seeking to appoint a Design Manager to join their team based in and around Tyne & Wear on a permanent basis. The opportunity is due to an increase in work and growth within the business, which requires Design Manager support permanently. The client value culture, discipline, growth and trust within their business and are looking for individuals who follow these factors within their job role. Their current projects they have on across North & West Yorkshire range between 3 - 5 years worth of work, while also tendering for a range more during this time. This is a permanent position and they are looking for someone to start ASAP:
Responsibilities:
- Support the generation of tenders for authorisation and submission
- Manage the process of designing the solutions for projects tendered and won
- Support the fulfilment of the pipeline of contracts safely, on time and to quality required to maximise gross profit and end client satisfaction
- Implement relevant policies including SHE, risk management, solution design etc.
- Build and maintain a network of relationships
- Lead the bid team, manage & close tender deliverables/submission requirements
- Review meetings
- Assist in the negotiation of suitable amendments to design when or where required
- Coordinate with the design and construction teams on cost, value, change management and design efficiencies
- Performance assessment forms
- Produce and agree realistic design delivery programmes
- Support on pre-con and project delivery
Candidate Profile
Requirements:
- Proven experience of managing over pre-con and project delivery, delivering processes to manage the design consistently
- Experience working for a main contractor on small to large value commercial new build projects or similar
- A Valid CSCS (Desirable)
- Degree level or technical qualification equivalent in engineering (Desirable)
- Use of AutoCAD & Revit/BIM
- Ability to commute
- Right to Work
