Job Description

A key client of ours are currently seeking a Procurement & Supply Chain Manager to join their team based in North Lincolnshire, on a permanent basis, leading the purchasing team within that region. The company deliver a range of projects across construction focusing on new build commercial & educational, refurbishment, fit out and industrial developments across the Lincolnshire, Yorkshire and the North East regions. The ideal candidate will have had experience working in a procurement lead role for a construction company previously, specialising in similar projects during their career. You will directly report to the Commercial Director of the business, with managing over a team including Buyer's, Assistant Buyer's and the Stores Manager for all equipment and material management. This is a permanent position and they are looking for someone to start ideally ASAP due to the growth and expansion of the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting with Pre Construction enquiries, supporting the estimating team on Material & Plant information
  • Devising and using strategies to enhance procurement and sourcing gains Discovering profitable suppliers and initiate business and organization partnerships
  • Develop alongside the Commercial Director and Contracts Director, and then manage, a Supply Chain Library (both Sub-Contractor and Material/Plant) and promote their use within the Business’s
  • Negotiating with external vendors to secure advantageous terms & negotiate annual rate increases
  • Build on existing relationships with our supply chain
  • Approve the ordering of necessary goods and services
  • Finalise purchase details of orders and deliveries
  • Examine and test existing contracts
  • Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
  • Collaborate with key persons, internally and externally to ensure clarity of the specifications and expectations of the company
  • Support the Operation teams & assist with the Collation of the H&S files on project completion with our Contract Administrators
  • Perform risk management for supply contracts and agreements
  • Control spend and build a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs
  • Conduct monthly Procurement, Buying & stores meetings & present reports to your line Manager

Candidate Profile

Requirements

  • A strong understanding and ability to plan and forecast demand
  • Good knowledge of supplier or third party management software
  • Relevant degree or equivalent in similar positions (desirable)
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Right to Work
  • Ability to commute
