Location: Covering the North East of England (Newcastle, Gateshead and surrounding areas)

Overtime available

Hours: 40 hours a week – Monday to Friday

On call: 1 week in every 4

Coleman James Specialist Recruitment are advertising this Air Conditioning Engineer role on behalf of our client – a nationwide market leader in Facilities and Commercial Building Maintenance. As a company they deliver trusted M&E Hard and Building Maintenance Services to clients across the whole of the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

The purpose of this role is to effectively maintain service and repair air conditioning equipment in customer locations & provide assistance to HVAC equipment. This involves first line response to defects or requested system changes as well as providing relevant escalation on matters requiring senior manager and client attention.

  • You will carry out fault finding and repair of air conditioning equipment
  • You will be responsible for reactive maintenance, servicing / PPM and oversee installation works of air conditioning systems, repairs to F-Gas and refrigeration systems and equipment, minor mechanical and building fabric duties
  • You will work in other UK regions on occasions to assist with project works and national customer contracts

Candidates Background & Experience:

  • You must be a fully Qualified Engineer in Air Conditioning or Refrigeration – Time Served or with an NVQ Level 2 or 3 Qualification
  • You will hold City and Guilds 2079 Category 1 (F Gas Qualification)
  • Ideally you will hold City & Guilds 17th or 18th wiring regulations, although this is not essential, provided you have experience working with VRVs, Split Units, Chillers and Air Handling Units
  • You must have experience of multi-site environment and be able to deal directly with customers and the on-site team there
  • Positive in your approach, you will be able to work in a dynamic business environment, but above all be committed to the delivery of outstanding customer service
  • You will have the ability to work at heights, work in confined spaces
  • You will have a hands-on, can-do and flexible approach to your work
  • You will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • You will have a strong attention to detail
  • You will be prepared to work as part of an on call rota (1 week in 4)
  • You will hold a full Driving Licence and a high degree of mobility to travel throughout the area
