Job Description

We are working alongside a privately-owned Building Services consultancy in the North East who are looking for an ambitious and driven Mechanical Design Engineer to join their growing office.

Our client is an established consultancy who have been operating for over 20 years and currently employ 60 staff across their 4 offices in Newcastle, Leeds, Manchester and Teesside. This role is offering a clear and structured path for progression with support and training across the whole business.

Projects sectors include Healthcare, Education, Residential, Commercial and much more.

Ensuring that their Engineers are technically strong and well-rounded you will gain exposure to all aspects of the business including business development, commercial management and resourcing.

The Role:

  • responsible for design development, including drawings and calculations;
  • liaise with Clients, other design team members and contractors;
  • liaise with other team members to plan workload and resources;
  • produce drawings and calculations and checking those of others;
  • author official documents including letters, reports and specifications;

 

Skills/Experience:

 

  • Sound technical knowledge of mechanical building services.
  • AutoCAD / REVIT familiarity (although not critical)
  • Familiar with industry standard calculation programmes, e.g Hevacomp / Cymap / IES.
  • Excellent planning, organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
