My client is a leading National M&E contractor who is looking for a Principal Technical Manager with an electrical bias to join their team based out of their North West office or Cambridge office, focusing on high profile, technically complex mechanical and electrical projects across multiple sectors.

They need someone with technical/ electrical excellence from design phases through to commissioning phases, someone who can maintain professional relationships across different teams and someone who will be able to influence outcomes of project designs.
The projects you will initially be allocated are high value accelerated schemes within the MOJ sector. These schemes are within the pre-construction phase and will hit site in the next 9 months, with around 3 years of onsite work to follow. There will be a focus on value engineering, review and management of detailed designs with the supply chain, technical reviews of Bids and Tenders and take on technical authority.
As the Principal Technical Manager you will be:
• Accountable for Technical performance of allocated bids & Projects
• Responsible for resolving complex technical issues
• Responsible for the management of MEP & BIM design on allocated projects
• Accountability for technical assessment, coaching and development of Preconstruction Leaders, Design Project Managers & Project Managers & Engineers
• Managing design risk & opportunities with a robust and transparent approach
• Responsible for another technical manger as a direct report into you & future line management

Experience within MOJ, Healthcare or Life Science projects is desirable but not a requirement.
