Positions Summary
As part of the transformation of the Company's strategy to deliver long term growth with sustainable profitability there is a requirement to constantly improve the commercial capability in the business. (Journey to commercial excellence). A key part of this journey is the need for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to work in support of the Commercial Manager responsible for the central projects portfolio. The is also a requirement to support Company’s Head of Commercial from time to time in developing process improvements and wider support requirements across the business.
Based in Scunthorpe (Hybrid working).
Responsibility
The exact nature of the deliverables will vary over time dependent on the business priorities, but will likely include:
- Provide appropriate input and assistance at project bid stage to ensure commercially robust tender submissions.
- Support Project Manager, as directed by the Commercial Manager, in contract administration and cost/value management with the objective of creating profitable, sustainable growth for the business.
- Implement cost monitoring and reporting measures appropriate to the size and complexity of individual projects to provide details on current expenditure and project value as well as provide robust forecasting of the same.
- Interface with discipline leads and other members of the project delivery team to capture commercial risks and opportunities and implement measures accordingly.
- Provide financial reporting to clients as may be required.
- Preparation and submission of applications for payment.
- Implementation of change control procedures as set out under the contract.
- Early identification of potential conflict and implementation of conflict avoidance measures as may be directed by Company's Head of Commercial.
- Valuation of subcontractor applications for payment and preparation of Payment Notices and Pay Less Notices as may be appropriate.
- Management of subcontract change control process ensuring all risks and liabilities are carried forward to the Main Contract where possible.
- Any other reasonable duties as may be required.
