Job Description
Our client is a privately-owned M&E contractor based in the North East. Due to increased work load, they are looking to appoint a Buyer to be based permanently at their head office working closely with the Head of Commercial. With work secure well into 2026, this is a role that offers not only job security but also long-term progression as the business continues to grow.
Reporting directly into the Head of Commercial, as M&E Buyer you will have the opportunity to assist in overseeing the procurement of all materials on secured projects. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a rapidly growing and progressive organisation to support with their procurement requirements for multiple projects.
The role:
• Assisting the Project teams and head of Procurement with quotes that will eventually lead to procurement of materials, PPE and everything associated with a M&E Contractor
• Ensuring procuring of materials Is within budgets and given timescale in order to progress works on site
• Identifying potential new suppliers
• Monitoring supply chain and upgrading suppliers to preferred status when necessary
• Resolving disputes and account queries between suppliers and the company
• Maintaining and updating overall company documentations
• Maintain Order Shared Email Inbox
• Process orders using correct product and send to relevant vendors
• Obtain quotes for day to day and bespoke items or client specific products
• Check Order Value approval required and obtain where required
• Purchase from preferred suppliers, being mindful of supplier rebates
• Distribute Orders to relevant vendors
• Track Orders and delivery confirmation
• Advise requesters on any Orders where delivery or spec cannot be met and suggest alternatives
• Order from preferred supply list or requirements outside of this must be approved by Head of Procurement
• Resolve invoice problems
• Support Commercial & Estimating teams with general material costs and supplier details as requested by Head of Commercial
• Ensure full compliance with all Company policies and ISO accreditations
