We have a fantastic opportunity for a Business Unit Director to join a leading privately-owned M&E Business.

As a senior business leader in and a member of the Business Board, this role will be responsible for a circa £80m turnover business unit which forms part of a wider £175m turnover.

You will be working with the Business Board focusing on business development to meet the target of becoming a £200m business that has a broad portfolio of public frameworks and commercial opportunities.

This company is a £180 Million M&E Business operating out of 4 Regional Offices as the UK’s pre-eminent design-led Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) provider, specialising in the design and installation of building services and infrastructure solutions. Having successfully worked on a number of prestigious contracts in the UK and Scotland, we are viewed as the pre-eminent supplier of building services and are BIM 2 level accredited.

The business deliver bespoke, design-led cost efficient solutions optimised for the whole construction team, by maximising off-site manufacture in our production facility delivering our solutions which minimise onsite resources and interfaces assuring quality and customer satisfaction in a measurable, safe way every time.

Key Accountabilities include:

• Take full P&L responsibility for the North business unit within the defined geographical location.

• Lead the business unit and ensure successful deployment of the company strategy.

• Accountable for work winning and delivery within the business unit, to the customers’ scope and specification, in addition to achieving agreed project profitability targets and significant growth agenda.

• Actively lead the business to ensure the delivery of positive economic, social and environmental outcomes for customers and clients.

• Control costs, drive efficiency and effectively manage budgets, including active management of all commercial and business risk.

• Contribute to building and inspiring talented teams across all functions – commercial, technical, design, work winning and finance teams and represent and promote SES in the local geography. Be a public face of the company.

We are looking for a recognised leader who has an excellent commercial acumen and strong financial and business skills.
