Job Description

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Planner / Senior Planner to join the this industry leading M&E contractor working on tender & live projects ranging from £7 million to £50 million based from either the North East or Yorkshire. You will be responsible for the day to day planning duties on projects within the region and provide effective leadership to the Planners and Assistant Planners.

My client is the UK’s pre-eminent design-led Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) provider, specialising in the design and installation of building services and infrastructure solutions.

They deliver bespoke, design-led cost-efficient solutions optimised for the whole construction team, by maximising off-site manufacture in their production facility delivering solutions which minimise onsite resources and interfaces assuring quality and customer satisfaction in a measurable, safe way every time.

Key Accountabilities will include:

Work with the site team and main contractor to ensure the projects have fully integrated programmes sequenced in the correct manner to allow the successful completion of the project

Thoroughly study specifications, drawings and relevant contract documents/ correspondence in conjunction with engineers and surveyors to ensure adequacy of the planning and programming of projects

Carry out regular reporting on projects to allow the site team to understand the programme position in relation to progress

Liaise with the project team to ensure progress reports, progress percentages and drop-down programmes, are produced and issued in accordance with company best practice, company procedures and project requirements to allow proper management and commercial protection to be achieved

They are looking for a qualified Senior Planner with experience of working on M&E projects across a diverse range of sectors, have an advanced user level knowledge of Asta Power Project and competent knowledge base of the NEC3 & NEC4 suite of contracts as well as JCT contracts. Additional experience in other planning software formats, such as P6 would be advantageous.

You must be someone who is ambitious and able to work under your own initiative. Alongside this you will be a strong communicator with the ability to engage at all levels and be a solid team player.
